I did finally make it home yesterday after 16 days away and covered 8000 miles. The map is now very difficult to follow because of all the to and fro on the same roads.
Not due till leave again till Sunday after the safety has been done on the truck (MOT).
I have never seen the Penner yard in Steinbach so empty which is a good sign.

I last posted on Monday when I was taking some time of in Grand Island, Nebraska. From there I loaded in Des Moines, Iowa Tuesday morning and dropped the trailer in Brampton Wednesday afternoon picked up an empty went to Hamilton, On dropped the empty and hooked a loaded one bound for Rock Island, Illinois.
I deliver this load tomorrow morning then switch in Cedar Rapids, Ia with a loaded one going back to Brampton, On.
When I get back to Brampton on Saturday that will be around 6500 miles this trip and 7800 for the month.
The map above is getting harder to follow with all the back and forth, click on it to enlarge.
Can anyone send me directions home?

I have passed this truckstop many times but having no real interest in shiny bits for trucks I have never bothered stopping at the place.
On Sunday I had a little time to spare so thought I would make the effort and go and have a look as I was passing.
I have to admit that I was impressed with the place, it can be found at Walcott, Iowa exit 284 I80.
There is parking for 800 trucks and boasts a 300 seat restaurant, 24 private showers, dolby surround sound truckers theatre, game room, barber, dentist, embroidery centre, Wendy's and a Dairy Queen.
The shop is incredible, carrying every accessory you could wish for a truck.
Me!! I left without buying anything from the superstore, shiny bits still don't appeal to me, they are for drivers and owner operators with too much time and money on their hands, still nice to look at though.

In the middle of another decent length trip. I left home on Monday and delivered to a farm in the middle of nowhere about 10 mile south of Union Springs, Alabama on Thursday.
Thursday afternoon I was reloading in Smyrna, Tennessee going to Brampton, On. That is where I switched trailers for this one going to Grand Island, Nebraska for delivery Monday morning.
I will be almost out of hours after my delivery so won't be able to do anything else till Tuesday morning when I get hours back from last week.
Alabama was a beautiful state and it was great to see all the colours coming back on the trees and bushes, Wednesday afternoon it was 29c and very humid and then I had to drive through severe thunder storms on my way back up to Tennessee.

After getting home Saturday afternoon I discovered the dogs were not happy with the position of their new home, they wanted more room to play and to top it all off they didn't like the colour (or color depending on where you learned English).
So on my only day off this week it was back to my project, a hole had to be cut in the fence, a frame put round the door and the fence nailed to the frame, all this after it had been sealed and painted.
Just got to put a door in the back of it now for easy cleaning.
Tomorrow I am loading and going to Union Springs, Alabama, a nice 1700 miles one way!!

A very quick trip this week with it being Easter. Left Thursday down into South Dakota to deliver Friday then ran empty to Minneapolis/St Paul to switch with a load bound for Winnipeg getting back home Saturday.
The floods are back again but not as bad as last year yet, most of the roads remain open up until now.
