The temperatures were very mild at the weekend, above freezing for all of my journey and warm enough to clear the snow in some areas. All went according to plan with no breakdowns or delays and I got back to the yard about 4.00 this afternoon.
Going back out again tomorrow but with a tank this time, doing a load of tallow to Hancock, Minnesota.

Man, that is some load. Bet that weighed some Dave. How heavy are those rolls?

Hi Andy, each roll weighed a little over 5000 lbs and I had 8 of them on giving me a net weight of 43000 (divide by 2.2=Kg). Biggest problem is getting your axle weights right here and I had a tri-axle which isn't recognised in USA so you are still only allowed to gross 80000 lbs with 34000 lbs on the trailer axles.

Some states ,Montana, N dakota and a few others allow tridems,@ i think 90,000lbs,,,

You are right Graham, N Dakota is 91000 lbs on roads other than the interstate or 88000 lbs on the interstate but you also need the permit to go with it, you can't just decide to pull a tridem for extra wieght and carry the extra weight.
